News From the 4th Ward:

Thank you to Haverford Township 4th Ward Commissioner, Dan Siegel, for attending this month’s PFCA Board Meeting. Below are two updates highlighted from his most recent e-newsletter.

Yard Waste Pickup on Wednesdays: Remember the Township now offers a yard waste pickup on Wednesdays. Please note that grass clippings are not accepted with yard waste and must be included with your regular trash.

Freedom Playground: Picket fence posts, pavers and components are still available. For more information, go to  ww.freedomplay.org. The organizers still need to raise $95,000 to pay for the poured-in-place ground cover needed to open the playground.

News From the PFCA Board:

· PFCA is purchasing new, reusable signs for our community event signs. Just one rainy day can ruin hours of work on a posterboard sign. We are hoping the new signs will look nicer and last longer – hopefully saving money in the long run. Look for their debut as July 4th approaches.

· We had an enormous turnout and beautiful weather for this year’s Egg Hunt. Look for more even more eggs and prizes at next year’s event!

· Thanks to Nancy Franz for once again coordinating the  neighborhood yard sale. Thankfully the rain held off and it was a beautiful and busy day at houses throughout Paddock Farms.

Paddock Rd / Ellis Rd intersection

As you likely have noticed, new traffic flow markings were painted on the road at the intersection of Paddock Rd and Ellis Rd. According to 4th Ward Commissioner Dan Siegel, this is a trial solution to improve traffic safety.

Several of you have voiced concerns / posed questions about the road markings. There are other proposed options for this intersection that include concrete islands with poles, a traffic circle with plantings, etc. We understand that any final decision will not be made until the spring, and all options are currently up for discussion.

Please continue to check Dan’s website for updates on this issue, and feel free to email him (dansiegel@4haverford.com). You may also contact PFCA’s representative on this issue, Allison O’Brien of Paddock Rd. Her phone number is 610-446-2570, her email is alisonobrien2001@verizon.net.
