>>Paddock Park Improvement Committee Update: The committee met with the Township Park Maintenance Supervisor as a means to address concerns, issues and questions regarding Paddock Park. Some of the asks included:
Electricity/and or lighting in the pavilion
Grading the uneven area by the pavilion
Repairing/repainting play equipment
Removing the border around toddler play area
Removing the concrete in the ground (from the old pool) near the toddler area
Grading-soil/turf replacement in the area near the picnic tables; possibly relocating tables
Connecting the path behind single slide
To date they have completed or have in progress:
Tree trimming but no removal
Some dirt around the pavilion and near the area with the picnic tables but it does not look nearly complete
Half of the border (holding the mulch in) around the toddler area is gone
They have removed one piece of equipment (the boat) ostensibly to repair it
In process of filling in dirt around the footing of the play equipment and filled in some holes; some concrete footing will be replaced/repaired
As a precursor to major improvements that will be guided by the committee, we asked that the community as a whole help eliminate the inappropriate use of Paddock Park--including gathering after dusk, vandalism and alcohol and drug use. Two arrests were made last Tuesday at 6:30pm for suspected illegal drug use/possession. As shocking as this can be, it is a step in the right direction to not only improve the park and neighborhood, but will hopefully positively impact the lives of those involved and the community as a whole. Please continue to report this sort of activity by calling 911 to be connected to Haverford Township Police Department.
A few event reminders plus a very important message highlight this email update...
One last reminder as our 2016 Dues Drive enters its final days, ending on Saturday, April 30th. Please offer your financial support to your neighborhood organization. We ask $20 for families, $10 for individual households and $5 for senior households. You can pay via PayPal on our website at paddockfarmscivic.org or you can mail a check to PFCA 101 West Eagle Road, Suite 250, Havertown PA 19083. Thank you for your support!!!
Haverford Spring Music Fest is Sunday, May 1st from NOON to 7pm on Brookline Blvd. Come out and enjoy a great variety of music, along with a wide selection of food and drink, as well as activities for the kids.

Please register by May 8th.
+++++ IMPORTANT NEIGHBORHOOD MESSAGE +++++
TAKE BACK OUR PARK! We need to change the tone for a moment and bring your attention to a persistent problem in Paddock Park. Confirmed by many residents that live on the perimeter, Paddock Park is a hub of after dusk activities that result in vandalism not only in the park, but to properties in the vicinity of the park. Visitors to the park on the weekend are exposed to the aftermath of these destructive gatherings. Vandalism is not the only crime--evidence of underage drinking and drug use is present. While the newly formed Paddock Park Improvement Committee briefly discussed this in their first organizational meeting, the problem supersedes any “improvements.” We must take back our park. While notifying the Haverford Township Police will likely increase patrols, we are asking residents to follow the mantra heard other places--IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING. THIS MEANS CALL 911. 911 is the way to get HTPD to respond to or investigate a recent or in-progress incident. 911 is not just for emergencies, it is for the reporting of illegal, destructive behavior that needs to be reported to the HTPD. We need a formal record of the incidents. You may also choose to call the HTPD Anonymous Tip Line at 610-853-9213. As always, Paddock Park is closed from dusk until dawn. Please share this message with your friends, neighbors and anyone with kids that may hangout in the park or know someone that does. This behavior will not be tolerated and the police will be encouraged to do what is within their means. Thank you for your attention, support and action given to this issue.
